Telefónica Imagenio project started on April 2006 and up to date , after different upgrades it consists on a headend for 200 TV channels with MPEG4 compression technology and transportation of signals over TCP/IP Network.
Besides the headend itself two extra subsystems have been installed for the monitoring and supervision of the headend signals and for the driving of these signals into it.
The first consists on 7 Miranda kaleidos K2 with a capacity for monitoring 216 channels of a standard definition and 6 high definition channels. And three KaleidoX for 288 signals coming from the set top boxes.
The second consists on chassis of a 1024x512 video router, edpandable to 1024x1024 (41 rack units) and the necessary infrastructure around to provide service to the new headend and keep the services that this center used to offer.
This matrix allows working with SD and HD signals.
Also in order to get part of the TV channels, 4 parabolic antennas have been installed and a pool of 80 receivers.
